Marshall Hill

(1947-2021)

Marshall grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy at nearby Mars Hill College. Following college, Marshall relocated to the Charlotte area for work where he would eventually meet his wife, Brenda, who was just graduating from Winthrop University in Rock Hill. In the following years, they welcomed their three children, Betsy, Allen, and Brandon (as well as numerous pets) while Marshall worked in accounting for companies like US Foods and Bowater.

Eventually, Marshall saw the opportunity to start his own business by helping individuals and companies in the Rock Hill community with tax preparation services. As his children grew up, along with the families of Brenda’s and his friends, he understood that there were other parts of life he could help people prepare for leading to adding different areas of practice to where we are today.

Over roughly 30 years, Marshall A. Hill & Associates Inc. has had the pleasure to grow with our clients, including welcoming some of their children and even grandchildren to the firm as new clients. And that’s not the only generational element of our company. Prior to his passing in 2021, his two sons Allen and Brandon took on larger roles at the firm and have since strived to carry on Marshall's legacy.

We, along with the clients who knew him, will always cherish the memories, lessons and laughs we shared with Marshall over the years. His endearing personality is why we continue to operate with the same name, principles and integrity he carried so proudly throughout his life.
